Thorns make this tree valuable as a barrier.

A small native tree growing to 20 feet. Sometimes multi-stemmed. Black berries are food for birds and other wildlife. Develops thorns which could be useful for foot traffic control. Good wildlife cover and erosion control. Likes some moisture in the soil and full sun to part shade.
