This wild rose has brilliant red hips that are food for birds and small mammals. Flowers are small and grow in clusters. It grows to about 4.5 feet. Native to both sides of the Cascades. It is popular in ornamental landscapes since it does not grow as tall or as vigorously as the other native roses. Does not like wet soils.
