The name “procera” means “tall.” Noble Fir lives up to both its names, being both tall and noble! It is the tallest of all true firs; usually found at higher elevations in the Cascade Mountains. Noble Fir is a fine specimen tree and one of the most highly prized Christmas trees. It grows at a moderately slow rate (~12″ to 30″ per year), but may eventually reach 90-200 feet. It does best in full sun on well drained soils.
