It has pinkish-white urn-shaped flowers followed by red berries. Kinnikinnick is a name that indigenous peoples used for leaves they smoked. It was often mixed in with tobacco. Its two scientific names actually mean “bear grape & bearberry” ‘Vancouver Jade’ is a cultivated variety selected from Northwest plants developed by the University of British Columbia. It has glossy green leaves.
