About the Mock-Orange
Our native mock-orange has been a prized ornamental in Europe since 1825. It is best known for its fragrant, large, snow white blooms which occur in late June to early July. This medium to large sized, multi-stemmed shrub takes full sun or part shade. Ideal at the edges of forests. Fruit is eaten by birds. The hard wood has been used by indigenous peoples. Flower and leaves lather for cleaning.
