About the Engelmann Spruce
A tall, narrow, evergreen conifer with blue-green needles. It is found primarily in the Rocky Mountains, but also occurs in subalpine zones of the Cascades and the Olympic Mountains. It is somewhat shade tolerant, but is best in sun on moist, well-drained soil. It is an attractive conifer that can be used as a Christmas tree.
