About the Sitka Spruce
This tree is commonly found in the rain forests of the Olympic Peninsula. It has attractive bluish foliage. It is a better choice than the Colorado Blue Spruce due to Blue Spruce’s susceptibility to aphids and adelgids. Sitka Spruce grows rapidly to 100-150 ft. with a spread of 20-25 ft.. Champion trees, the largest of its species in the world, can be found in the Quinault Rainforest. Prefers full sun on moist, well drained soils.
